Contractor & Business Storage in Waldorf, MD

Large drive-up units, aisles wide enough to turn a tractor-trailer, and 24/7 access a mile off Route 301. Tools, scaffolding, material, and inventory stay here instead of in your truck or your driveway.

Box truck parked beside a wide drive aisle of drive-up storage units at Economy Storage in Waldorf, MD, with perimeter fencing and the security gate at the far end

A box truck in one of our aisles on a weekday afternoon. The gate and fence line are at the far end.

Your truck fits. So does the trailer.

Our aisles were laid out for full-size vehicles. Box trucks pull through without a spotter. Tractor-trailers get in, turn, and get back out. There are no tight corners to thread, no low canopies, and no ramps to a second floor.

Every unit is ground-floor drive-up with a roll-up door, so you back up to the door and load off the tailgate. If you have ever folded your mirrors to get down a storage aisle, or given up and hand-carried a load in from outside the gate, you already know what that is worth at 6 a.m. on a Monday.

Get the trailer out of your driveway

Dump trailer along the side of the house. Equipment on the street. Material under a tarp where the whole cul-de-sac can see it. Plenty of Charles County subdivisions have rules about all three, and the violation letters keep coming until the trailer moves.

Parking the equipment here ends that conversation with your HOA. It also moves your tools off a residential street, where a loaded work trailer sitting overnight is the easiest target on the block.

Our large units

These are the sizes contractors and businesses usually end up in. Our largest unit is 360 square feet.

Size Area What it holds
10×15 150 sq. ft. Hand tools, job boxes, ladders, and a few pallets of material.
10×20 200 sq. ft. About a one-car garage. Trade tools plus material between jobs.
15×15 225 sq. ft. Six to eight rooms of furniture, large items, or business inventory.
10×25 250 sq. ft. Extra-long unit for large equipment, vehicles, or commercial use. Call for pricing.
12×30 360 sq. ft. Our largest unit. Built for contractors and business use. Call for pricing.

Smaller sizes down to 5×10 are on the self storage page. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. Set shelving along both walls and keep a walkway down the middle and you will get to everything without unloading half the unit.

What our commercial tenants keep here

  • Tools and job boxes. The specialty saws, the demo gear, the second set of everything.
  • Scaffolding, staging, and ladders. Out of the weather and off your rack.
  • Compressors, generators, and pressure washers. Drain the fuel before they come in.
  • Material between jobs. Tile, trim, flooring, fixtures, pavers, lumber.
  • Seasonal equipment. Mowers in January, plows and salt spreaders in July, holiday install inventory the rest of the year.
  • Retail and online inventory. Stock, packaging, and shipping supplies for sellers and market vendors.
  • Records and files you are required to keep and never look at.
  • Vehicles, trailers, and motorcycles. Call and we will talk through sizing.

Security

  • Fenced premises with an automatic gate. The lot is enclosed, and the gate controls who gets in.
  • Your own gate access code. Codes are not shared between tenants. Entries run against your individual code, so gate activity is logged to the person who used it rather than to one code the whole facility knows.
  • Surveillance cameras throughout the facility, covering the aisles your unit opens onto.
  • Security lighting across the property, which matters when you are pulling tools at 5 a.m. in December.
  • You bring your own lock, so you hold the only key to your unit.
  • A resident manager who lives on site, not a call center three states away.
  • Masonry construction. Block walls, not sheet metal partitions.

Check your insurance either way. Many business and inland marine policies cover tools in a storage unit differently than tools in a truck, and it is a quick call to your agent.

Questions we get from contractors

Can a box truck or tractor-trailer get through your aisles?
Yes. The facility is tractor-trailer accessible, and the aisles are wide enough to turn and back without folding your mirrors. Box trucks and trailers come through every day.
What is your largest unit?
Our 12×30 at 360 square feet. We also have 10×25, 15×15, and 10×20 units. Call (301) 843-5220 for current availability on the larger sizes.
Do I get my own gate code?
Yes. You get your own access code rather than a code shared with other tenants, so entries are tied to you.
Can I store scaffolding, ladders, and staging?
Yes. Those are some of the most common things our commercial tenants keep here. Drain the fuel out of anything with a tank before it comes in.
Is there a move-in fee or a long-term contract?
No move-in fees and no hidden charges. We offer monthly and long-term rental arrangements with no long-term commitment required.
Do you price match?
We will meet or beat any verified competitor price on a comparable unit. Bring the quote.
Can I rent a truck here too?
Yes. We are a U-Haul dealer, so you can rent a truck or trailer and load straight from your unit, and we stock boxes and packing supplies in the office.
